Casa C\u00f3rdovay Murga, situated at the entrance of Cafayatetown, hosts the valley\u2019s oldest winery.<\/p>\n
Its origin dates back to last midcentury, and along its history it has been Salta inhabitants\u2019 traditional wine, given the quality of its products as well as its manufacturing crafts tone. Its vineyards\u2019 justified fame is the result of its location. It is a Mesopotamia flanked by the Estecostream and Chushariver, where a dry and sunny environment blends with underground humidity higher than the rest of the valley, which determines the different soils and vines behavior. The Torront\u00e9swines have a higher solar exposure due to their location on the high slopes, whereas our red wines French vineyards flow along sediment-rich lowlands with mean temperatures. In all cases, the vineyard production has been limited, looking for a balance where the extracts, acidity and aroma, and flavors conjugate in each variety\u2019s optimal grade. The result is an exceptional raw material, a critical condition for great wines.<\/p>\n
They have their history and want to tell the visitor about it. That is the reason why their Museum opens as an open cultural space. They take pride at being able to have the machinery, which was used at the winery itself, and it is a pleasure for them to show it.<\/p>\n
The pieces in this collection, most of them belonging to the beginning of the industrial revolution, were not just collected, but also extracted and rescued for this museum.<\/p>\n
A group of more than 300 pieces made up of oak and carob barrels (complete cooperage). The Calchaqu\u00edesValleys are an endless reservoir of elements that take us back to the history of those who fought under the most adverse conditions and, as their sacrifice could not be ignored, here we present two types of material that, although different, they are still intimately related: one of them comprises agricultural and industrial machinery with some craft elements, the other one includes personal belongings and information from the old owners who did so much and contributed to the social and cultural work in the region<\/p>\n
