VINTAGE | 2013
REGION | Rioja
VARIETIES | Tempranillo
VINIFICATION AND AGING | A hand-picked special selection from our oldest (over 40 years of age), highest quality vines. 16 months in the same carefully selected new Bordeaux-type French oak barrels. Minimum 8 months ageing in the bottle
TASTING NOTES | An intense deep cherry red, having clear overtones of licorice, blackberry, blackcurrant, toffee, mocha and a hint of mint. It is juicy, powerful and exuberant on the palate; a sensory experience that will live long in the memory. It has outstanding fruity notes (strawberry, currant and licorice), very well combined with the aromas of aging, especially roasted and toasted coffee beans. The palate is long, balanced, round, with a good entry and a long finish.
PAIRING | Ideal with roast lamb, pork, and rabbit dishes. This wine also pairs very well with fame and most poultry dishes with spicy sauces and herbal flavoring.
